Start with the product you intend to commercialize

Tell us the cosmetic format, ingredient names, desired presentation, target markets and estimated first-order quantity. A useful OEM brief distinguishes the raw material specification from the finished cosmetic presentation and identifies which decisions are already approved.

Define the packaging as part of the brief

• Primary container, closure and net content.
• Label layout, brand assets and required market languages.
• Outer carton, insert and shipping pack expectations.
• Artwork approval process and responsibility for final claims.
• Batch marking, document delivery and shipment coordination.

Agree the scope and acceptance criteria

A quotation should describe what is included, the approved specification, quantity assumptions, packaging components and any remaining development decisions. Sampling, tooling, artwork and transport costs should be distinguished so the project team can compare proposals consistently.

Before production approval

Confirm the sample reference, revision of the specification, approved packaging artwork and the documents required for the destination market. Visual mockups illustrate direction; the approved production reference governs the final project.
